We received yet another pin code in the mail this week. What's most interesting about this--besides the fact that this is the second one we've received in 2011!--is that it is for free dining. This is essentially the same free dining deal that was offered to the general public last fall for most dates through September 2011 (the booking window is now past).
We won't be using this code, as we already booked with our previous room-only pin code (a better deal for our family). Still, I can't help but get excited every time I get one!
Have you ever received one? What's the best pin code deal you have ever been offered?

How do you get the pin codes? Do you have to stay on property to use them or get them?
ReplyDeleteWe are loyal WDW customers, but we've never received a pin code.....until 2011. 2 within 6 weeks of each other, the second being the free dining code. We have upgraded our planned trip where we planned to pay out of pocket for food; now we added free dining. This was the best pin code we've ever received, granted we've only received 2! 65 days!
ReplyDeleteHeidi, how one gets a pin code is a bit of a mystery. Being "loyal" WDW guests definitely helps. The more ways you get into Disney's system (i.e., resort reservations, signing onto their websites, etc.), the better your chances.
ReplyDeleteKim, you have confirmed my suspicion that Disney is getting a little "looser" with their pin codes in 2011--considering we've both received 2 already this year. Hmmm...very interesting indeed! Glad you were able to upgrade your trip!
I wish Disney would send me one of those pin codes for free dining! We are going in May and have already planned on spending the money for food and drinks. It would just be a little extra bonus if we could get that free dining! By the way, I love your site! It has been so helpful! This is our first family trip.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading, Traci! Here's hoping you get a pin code in time for your trip!
ReplyDeleteHow do you become "loyal" WDW fans and get these pin codes. This is my daughters very first trip and I really hope to be able to go back at a lter time but a pin code for free dining would be very ehlpful for our planned trip in May. We are staying in a disney resort and have a quick service meal plan but every penny saved helps defray the other costs.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, the more you visit, the more likely you are to get a pin code. Also, the more ways Disney "knows about you." In other words, sign up for anything and everything Disney--email newsletters, websites, etc....as long as they are official Disney sites.
ReplyDeleteIt's also worth noting that on almost every trip we take to WDW, we get some sort of "bounce back" offer, offering a discount if you return to WDW within a specific date range. (We've usually found better offers on our own, but some of them can be up to 30% off resort stays, or offers such as free dining plan.)
