It was not such a happy Valentine's Day for passengers on Disney's Magical Express yesterday when their bus collided with a tractor-trailer on Boggy Creek Road, sending five people to the hospital. Among those injured was the bus driver. There were no life-threatening injuries, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The investigation is ongoing, and few details have been released at this time.
This is another unfortunate addition to a growing number of Disney bus incidents. Granted, the sheer volume of WDW transportation vehicles on the roads in the greater-Orlando area is astounding, and the law of averages would say that, of course, there will be collisions. And it must be noted that in many cases, the accidents have proven not to be the fault of the Disney drivers. Still, each new incident leaves a bit more tarnish on Disney's transportation record. Here's hoping Disney takes a serious look at this area and finds ways to make positive changes.
