Astro Orbiter Fire Evacuates Tomorrowland

A minor fire on the Astro Orbiter closed down all of Tomorrowland on Sunday morning, just after opening. No one was injured--in fact, there was no one on the ride when the fire broke out,  but Tomorrowland was closed in order to allow safety vehicles to move freely in the area. Apparently, a melted light near the top of the decorative centerpiece of the attraction (not near where riders would sit) was the culprit. While the fire was put out almost immediately, the ride remained closed on Sunday. Other attractions in Tomorrowland re-opened to guests later in the day.
