Our family received another PIN code via email this week, but this one is what I would call a non-offer: a PIN code for something that Disney has already offered to the general public. In this case, it was free dining for most dates in January. (You can read about the previous offer in this post.) We've received similar non-offers in the past. But just the mere idea of getting a PIN code--an offer meant just for our family--is exciting and lets me know that Disney recognizes and rewards my loyalty as a guest.
Looking back at my files, I see that my most recent PIN code was in March of this year--about 8 months ago--and this makes 3 that we have received in 2011! The March code was another "non-offer" of free dining for fall. But the one before it, in January, was a great room discount, and we used it to book our most recent WDW vacation.
Did any of you Disney regulars also get the free dining PIN code?

We're planning a trip to Disney in Jan 2012 and would love to find out about a free dining plan as mentioned above. Are we too late? (It's Nov. 14 today.) If you can recommend a source for more info on this I'd be very grateful. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou're in luck! WDW has extended the booking deadline to Dec. 17. Some dates in Jan. are blocked, so it's still possible that you won't be able to get the discount. But you can call and check, or try booking online. (Sometimes the discounts are available on Disney's website, while others require a booking code. Not sure of the case, now that this has been extended.)
ReplyDeletewhat is this pin code? how do you get them? I consider myself a regular although not as regular as you! Any thoughts on whether they will offer free dining in the fall (say September) of 2012?
ReplyDeleteA PIN code is an offer that is made specifically to one guest/family, rather than the general public. No one knows for sure how to get them, but the more trips you make to Disney, the more they seem to come. Also, it helps to sign up for anything and everything Disney, to get your name/email in their system. Obviously, staying at a WDW Resort, rather than off-site, is helpful, since that's one way Disney tracks their guests. (Your name/email/address isn't really in their system when you buy tickets, especially if you pay cash or get them from another outlet.)
ReplyDeleteYour guess is as good as mine about free fall dining in 2012. Disney keeps saying it's going to wean the public off deep discounts, but they haven't let free fall dining go just yet. Some of the other discounts have been limited in the last year, but free dining was actually extended in 2011. I'm guessing this is a discount that will stand, but don't hold me to that.
