John of the Jungle Contest

I think this contest is tons of fun! Did you know that Pixar chief John Lasseter got his start with Disney as a Jungle Cruise skipper at Disneyland? It's true! And if you're a lucky Park guest who just happened to be in the Land in 1977 or 1978, and if you were fortunate enough to have John as your skipper on the Jungle Cruise, AND if you had the forethought (or just the touristy tendency) to take a photo of Skipper John...well, you just might win a trip to Disneyland for the Grand Opening of Cars Land, as well as a private cruise with Skipper John as he reprises his former role. How fun is that?!?

Jungle Cruise Live Action Movie in the Works

It worked for The Pirates of the Caribbean...not quite so much for The Haunted Mansion. Disney will give turning a Park attraction into a motion picture yet another shot with Jungle Cruise: the Movie. (OK, that's not actually the title...I just made that up.)

The Hollywood Reporter has a few details, including the stars (Tim Allen and Tom Hanks are teaming up again for this one!), the producers (same guys responsible for bringing us The Fighter), and script writer (who has worked on Shrek and several Disney straight-to-DVD releases).

While the project has been in the works for some time, it appears that they are actually moving forward now. Can't wait to see what they come up with!
