UP Characters Replace Flik in Animal Kingdom

Guests can now find Dug and Russell from Pixar's UP at Animal Kingdom, near the entrance to "It's Tough to Be a Bug." These characters replace the meet-n-greet with Flik from A Bug's Life. (Somehow Flik seems more appropriate for the space, but I imagine Disney wants to showcase some of the more current characters.)

Refurbishment Update

There are a few upcoming refurbishments to tell you about:

• The Frontierland Shootin' Arcade (Magic Kingdom) will be closed now through October 1.


• It's Tough to Be a Bug (Animal Kingdom) will be closing on August 15 and is also expected to reopen October 1.


• Voyage of the Little Mermaid (Disney's Hollywood Studios) will close for a short refurbishment August 15 through September 4.

While two of these will hit during our next planned trip, fortunately the one we really care about (Little Mermaid) will open in time for our visit! Have I mentioned that we know Ariel? Seriously, we do. And she is awesome.
